The NeuroWare Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) is a UK-wide ecosystem of researchers, industry partners, investors and policymakers working together to accelerate the development and commercialisation of neuromorphic hardware. Our mission is to turn world-class research into scalable technologies, competitive UK companies and real-world impact.
Neuromorphic computing takes inspiration from the human brain, combining energy efficiency, real-time processing and robustness. These capabilities make neuromorphic technologies particularly well suited to low-power AI, edge devices and more sustainable approaches to computing.
NeuroWare brings together leading experts, facilities and investors to advance neuromorphic hardware and remove barriers to adoption. We address the technical, commercial and policy challenges that currently limit the UK’s ability to compete globally, helping to translate emerging research into scalable, high-impact technologies.

We convene academic researchers and industry partners through a cycle of workshops, shared challenge definition and co-creation, ensuring technology development is directed by real-world needs.
Using a push-pull strategy for technology translation, we raise Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) in academia while industry defines requirements and supports transition to deployment. This dual approach shortens the path from concept to commercial reality.
