Objectives

NeuroWare’s core mission is to accelerate the development of brain-inspired computing hardware.

Our objectives are to:

1

Build and connect a UK neuromorphic innovation ecosystem

Unite researchers, industry partners, investors, networks, prototyping facilities and user communities to accelerate innovation and strengthen national capability.
2

Address key technological and commercial challenges through industry-academia co-creation

Work with partners to define real-world needs, solve key technological barriers and support the translation of novel devices into deployable systems.
3

Accelerate technologies across the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) spectrum and provide access to advance prototyping

Advance research toward deployment through coordinated academic-industry collaboration, world-class fabrication and testing facilities, and expert technology transfer support.
4

Stimulate and support new UK deep-tech startups

Foster the development of a vibrant neuromorphic startup ecosystem by working with partners to encourage entrepreneurship, strengthen commercialisation pathways, and facilitate connections between innovators, industry and investors.
5

Develop a skilled, multidisciplinary talent pipeline

Support training across materials science, computer science, engineering and system design to build the expertise required for future neuromorphic technologies.
6

Strengthen the UK’s presence and influence in policy and strategy

Engage government, funders, NGOs and professional bodies to ensure the UK’s neuromorphic capabilities are recognised and deliver maximum public benefit.
7

Enhance national collaboration and visibility

Work with the NeuMat neuromorphic materials, devices, algorithms, circuits and systems network, the UK Multidisciplinary Centre for Neuromorphic Systems and Computing (NeuroSYNC), the EFutures network, the three other UK semiconductor IKCs (CHIMES, Cornerstone and REWIRE) and other networks to host workshops and community events that increase visibility and collaboration.
8

Build and connect a UK neuromorphic innovation ecosystem

Maintain strong links with global leaders through bilateral collaborations, exchanges, joint seminars and shared workshops to keep the UK aligned with frontier developments.
