As part of Evidence Week in Parliament 2026, NeuroWare engaged with MPs, parliamentary staff and journalists on the opportunities presented by neuromorphic computing. The team shared the latest developments in brain-inspired computing, highlighted its potential to deliver more powerful and energy-efficient technologies, and discussed policy recommendations to help ensure the UK remains at the forefront of this emerging field.

The roundtable brought together experts from across academia, industry and government to explore opportunities in neuromorphic computing and silicon photonics, strategies for reducing AI energy consumption through more efficient algorithms and infrastructure, and the role of smart energy systems in supporting the next generation of computing technologies.
As part of the wider national effort to develop a Neuromorphic Computing Roadmap to 2050, NeuroWare was proud to host a collaborative roundtable alongside NeuroSYNC at Aston University, bringing together leaders from industry, academia, government, and policy.
The first of three roundtables explored the themes of Sustainability and Education & Skills to help shape the future direction of the field in the UK. The discussions focused on developing a shared understanding of future priorities, defining what success could look like in 2030, 2040, and 2050, and identifying the collaboration needed across sectors to drive meaningful impact and innovation.
NeuroWare recently welcomed experts from across academia, industry, and the public sector to UCL East Marshgate for the second roundtable contributing to the UK’s Neuromorphic Computing Roadmap to 2050.
Centered on Technological Innovation and Industrial Applications & Leadership, the session explored how neuromorphic technologies can move from emerging research into scalable, real-world deployment. Conversations highlighted the importance of strengthening UK leadership in the field, accelerating translation from lab to industry, and building the partnerships needed to support long-term innovation and economic impact.
NeuroWare convened experts and stakeholders at UCL East Marshgate for the concluding session in its roadmap workshop series, centred on building a resilient UK neuromorphic computing ecosystem through to 2050.
The discussion focused on defining key priorities and milestones, with participants using collaborative, hands-on activities to translate long-term ambitions into practical steps while identifying critical challenges and opportunities. The session marked an important step forward in shaping a coherent and resilience-driven roadmap.
